Marcelle Johnson Bevins, age 97, of Kingsport , Tennessee

entered eternal life Friday July 2, 2010 at 9:00 AM at Indian Path Medical Center.

She was born in Wise, Virginia September 3, 1912 the daughter of late Edgar and Orlena Gilliam Johnson. Marcella lived in Wise most of her life moving to this area for the last 34 years. Marcelle was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Mount Carmel. She had many interests including reading, shopping for antiques, sewing and spending quality time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband in 2001, Warren C. Bevins; son in 2006, Norman Kirk Bevins; brother, Joe Ed Johnson ; sisters, Leah Brummett, Elsie Johnson, Florine Johnson and Ruth Bradley. Survivors include her son, Roger and wife Norma Bevins of Kingsport, Tennessee; daughter, Margaret and husband Phillip Jessee of Kingsport; sisters, Jean Johnson of Lexington, Kentucky, Mary and husband John Smith of Jenkins, Kentucky, Frances and husband Kermit Lyerly of Whitesburg, Tennessee; numerous grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren and four nephews.

The family of Marcelle Bevins will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday July 5, 2010 at New Fellowship Ministries Baptist Church with services to follow at 8:00 PM with Rev. Rocky Churchwell officiating. Music will be provided by Rocky and Karen Churchwell. Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Tuesday July 6, 2010 at Tri-Cities Memory Gardens. Family and friends are asked to meet at the graveside by 1:45 PM.

The family would like to thank Kim Roberts and Kristy Fletcher, her loving caregivers and the dedicated staff of Madison House Assisted Living and Holston Manor Nursing Home. They would especially like to thank Roslyn Riner, CNA, as well as her friend and companion Nadine winston.
