He was previously a resident of Kingsport but had lived in Seymour for the last 16 years. He attended Buffalo Ridge Baptist Church when in Kingsport. He was a member of GWRRA and Middle Tennessee Precision Drill Team and also a member of Campers R Us. He held a certification of flight worthiness on Glacier Girl, a World War II fighter plane that was restored. He retired after 42 years and was top of his field in aviation excellence, he was also an examiner for A & P license.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Elaine Poore; his brother, Doug Poore; and his sister, Joyce Price. Survivors include his loving wife Sue Depew Poore of the home; son, Michael and wife Jessica Poore of Cape Canaveral, Fla.; daughter, Jessica Elaine Poore of Cocoa Beach, Fla.; grandchildren, Austin Poore, Kendall Poore, and Ashley Hanely; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 PM until 8:30 PM on Wednesday, July 21, 2010. Funeral services will follow with Rev. Jody Jenkins officiating. Military graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Thursday, July 22, 2010 at Tri-Cities Memory Gardens with Hammond Post # 3 and Gate City Post 265 officiating.
